TRAINING IN WELLINGTON, FLORIDA - 2009
After a long day of driving, we
overnighted in Dothan, AL.  Horses
and people were ready for a break.
It's inspection time when
entering Florida - paperwork
time.   (Tina & Hannah)
This is our log cabin - amazingly it
worked great for the 5 of us
(Karah got the couch).
The barn for Wyedale, Hannah,
and Tide.  We shared with Lisa
Wallace and her sales horses.
The beautiful dressage arena
where we had our daily lessons.
Referred to as the "yellow
barn", this is where Fanfare,
Player and Chloe boarded.
Tina, Jayne, Karah, Ally, and
Kathy watch one of the shows
that took place mid-month - many
well known dressage riders to
watch.
Our trip to the beach was fun but
the weather was not beach worthy
- note the long sleeves and
jackets.
Jayne, Tina, & Kathy ask "Are
we really in Florida?" - It was a
bit chilly during our first week.
Kathy is really enjoying getting back
to riding - Florida was great time in
the saddle.
Flower and greenery in Feb -
that's paradise.  Hannah is
enjoying some turnout time.
Tina and Hannah during a lesson.
There was always time for
the detail work.  (Tina)
Karah found the bike was
helpful to go between the two
barns and arena to keep up
with her duties at each barn.
Walking, walking, and more
walking-  (Tina and Hannah)
Jayne with Wyedale - a peaceful
moment.
Patty and Fanfare practicing
for the show at the end of the
month.
Evenings were fun - we had to
keep in touch with everyone at
home - Facebook was new to some
of us but we were figuring it out.
"Wally" the alligator lived in the
canal at the gate to the
neighborhood.  We all watched for
him each day.
Todd instructing at the Palm
Beach Derby show at the end of
our month in Florida.
Karah, Berit, and Ally (hiding)
are enjoying themselves on
the showgrounds.
Tina and Hannah put on a great
test!  It's definitely if Florida with
all the palm trees.
Ally on Player warming up for PSG.
Patty on Fanfare - check out
the tails - this was her PSG
debut.
Kathy and Sumathira watching
some Grand Prix freestyles-
Sunday was a full day of
freestyles in the CDI ring.
Mary Claire and Karah take Tide for
a walk on the showgrounds.
Chloe says that she is tired
after a month of hard work.
We all agree.
The time in Florida gave us all new experiences and the chance to get a head start on our training for 2009.  We had
great times sharing our ups and downs and some laughs along the way.  It would be hard to replace the six days a week
of riding during Feb. but I think we all were ready to come home (except Karah who would have like to stay for a few
more polo parties).  We thank Ally for her planning in order to have made this trip possible for all of us.
